Kicking any habit with the aid of Emotional Freedom Technique isn’t about willpower, it’s about identifying the triggers and drivers that got you into the habit in the first place. In fact, the only real use of willpower is in training yourself to persist in the use of this amazing tool for freedom – and you can even use EFT to overcome your resistance to using EFT!

So if you have a genuine desire to free your body from the harmful effects of your addictions, and you’ve tried everything else, then try EFT. And remember, it can sit happily alongside any formal medical treatments, but do let your GP or specialist know.

Although EFT is a tool you can use very effectively by yourself, in the case of addictive behaviours, I would always recommend being supported through the early stages of recovery by an EFT professional (as well as your doctor). This is when your resistance is at its highest and it will be much more difficult for you to see past any withdrawal sensations to the underlying issues which can be melted away through tapping and talking.
